Norman Baker’s work in Parliament

Since first being elected to Parliament in 1997, Norman has worked tirelessly for his constituents, regularly raising local issues and thus bringing them to national attention. If you would like to see what Norman has been saying in Parliament recently, please feel free to go to Hansard at:

Norman has also been heavily involved in trying to make Parliament more transparent and accountable. Indeed, he even fought the House authorities for two years in order to make them release a detailed breakdown of MPs’ expenses. Furthermore, when a Private Member’s Bill was put before Parliament with the aim of exempting MPs from their own freedom of information legislation, Norman was at the forefront of those who argued against it and successfully blocked it.
